After installing Windows 7, you may feel a bit strange about the taskbar. Not only because Microsoft introduces Superbar in Windows 7, but also the missing of the familiar Quick Launch bar. And here, if you consider the missing toolbar as useful, here is a simple way to bring it back.
* Right click the taskbar -> Toolbar -> New Toolbar
* Copy the folling directory into the box
%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
* Hit Select Folder

Now you get it back. To make it more familiar to use, do the followings.
* Right-click on the taskbar and uncheck “Lock the Taskbar”
* Right-click on the separator and uncheck “Show Title” and “Show Text”
* Right-click on the taskbar and hit Properties
* In the Taskbar section, check "Use small icons"
* Done
