As we know, although Microsoft has spared no effort to ensure that most of the hadwares and softwares will be compatible with the new Windows 7, still there are some "old" apps or games cannot run properly under Windows 7. The famous Counter-Striker 1.6 is one of them.Fortunately we can fix it.
The problem is related to the DEP data protection in Windows 7 but we can make an exception.
* Right-click on "Computer" and hit "Properties"
* Hit "Advanced system settings”

* Open the settings under performance tab

* Switch to Data Execution Prevention
* Check the second box named "Turn on DEP for all the programs and services except those i select "

* Now add the Counter-Striker 1.6 to the exception list
* Done
